General Information As decided in Balatonfured at the 3rd LTER-Europe conference our next meeting will be held January  21st – 25th in Sevilla/Doñana (Spain). On the first day the National Network Representatives will meet at Hotel Meliá Lebreros in Sevilla. The rest of the meeting will be held at CIECEMA in Matalascañas (very close to Doñana National Park). We will follow the line of Balatonfüred combining several envents in one week of intensive work on our continental network: 21: LTER-Europe conference of National Network Representatives (in Sevilla to facilitate participation for those only attending this part of the conference; evening: transfer of the group to Doñana National Park by bus) 22: Site Coordinators Conference (SCC), day1 23: 8:30-14:30 Excursion to Doñana National Park.  15:30-18:30, follow-on with the meeting. 24: Site Coordinators Conference  (SCC), day2 and first part of special ALTER-Net meetings (WP I3 and I6) 25: Until 14:00: ALTER-Net WP I3 and (if necessary) I6 task groups (wrapping up, division of tasks, allocation of budgets); Afternoon: Meeting of Task Group 2 of WP R2 (Biodiversity monitoring at LTER sites), starting 14:00 26: Short workshop on Doñana ESFRI proposal (lead: Spain) Have a look on the final programme for more details. We can now offer support for up to 3 scientific site co-ordinators and/or platform manager per national network which could else not participate (NON ALTER-Net partners and/or NON ALTER-Net countries). It consists of free lodging close to Doñana National Park (map) Research Station and a contribution of up to EUR 350 for travelling costs. Two-step approach: 1) Whenever possible the participation should be organized through the National Partner Institutes of ALTER-Net (employees or using the possibility of ALTER-Net sub-contracting). Please contact ALTER-Net partners in your respective countries (list of contacts). 2) If the participation can not be organized through a National Partner Institute of ALTER-Net, experts can be directly supported through the co-ordination of ALTER-Net. For reimbursement please use the attached ALTER-Net Form (to be sent directly to the co-ordination or to be given to the co-ordination in Sevilla/Donana). Technical details, registration formalities and the preliminary agenda are provided in this website. Please feel free to comment and propose issues to be dealt with at the conference. On December 4th and 5th a core group of the goal LTER and it’s WPs has met in Vienna to finalize the agenda and prepare the background documents for the conference. These documents will be circulated two weeks before the beginning of the conference at the latest.
